The Bibliotheca Alexandria Dialogue Forum hosts the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Globalization for the Common Good Initiative (GCGI) entitled “Building Peace, Justice, and Prosperity Together” from 12 to 16 June 2011.
The Alexandria Conference will focus primarily on a balanced assessment of the relationship between globalization, dialogue of civilizations, and the common good. It will explore the real challenges that all civilizations and cultures must face if globalization is to be guided toward the common good, securing justice, peace and prosperity for all.
It is worth mentioning that the GCGI began in 2002 in a conference in Oxford. Since then, the GCGI International Conference has become an annual event, traveling across the globe. These multidisciplinary and interfaith conferences, each locally organized and funded, have been lively and productive, in which many scholars representing many diverse faiths, have come together from around the world for intense discussions on a spiritual and value-centered vision of globalization and the common good.
