The World Public Forum (WPF) «Dialogue of Civilizations» Executive Committee informs that the First International Conference «Writing Systems of the World: History, Development, Prospects», scheduled on May 22–23, 2009 in Sophia (Bulgaria), will not be convened by the time fixed due to matters independent from Executive Committee. This fact is produced by the refusal of one of the sponsors to carry out his previous obligations concerning the reimbursement of the flight and accommodation expenses.
We present our apologies to all the participants for the inconveniences caused by the fact of the conference cancellation.
Acknowledging the importance of the conference theme «Writing Systems of the World: History, Development, Prospects» the Executive Committee will address the WPF «Dialogue of Civilizations» co-chairmen with a suggestion to include this theme into the agenda of the Seventh annual session of the Rhodes Forum, which is to be held on October 8 — 12, 2009 in Greece.
