A meeting of Russian Public Foundations “Dialogue of Civilizations” and Center of National Glory representatives with China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Secretary-General Li Ning was held on July 12, 2010 in Beijing. Possible joint activities aimed at development of humanitarian cooperation among public organizations of Russia and China were discussed during the meeting.
Among the participants of the meeting were: Honorable Director of the Soong Ching Ling Museum He Dazhang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department Sun Jian, officer of the Soong Ching Museum-research Center Zhao Bo, WPF “Dialogue of Civilizations” Executive Director Vladimir Kulikov, WPF “Dialogue of Civilizations” European Headquarters Director Diana Orlova, Center of National Glory Board Member Natalia Yakunina, Center of National Glory Board Member Evgenia Atkova, Center of National Glory President Sergej Scheblygin, Center of National Glory Vice President Zalina Medoeva, WPF “Dialogue of Civilizations” officers Sun Yue, Valery Dovnar and Sergej Schevchukov.
According to the Memorandum of Cooperation between China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Russian Public Foundation “Dialogue of Civilizations” signed in May 2010 an exhibition “Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling in USSR depicted in historical monuments, museum pieces and photography” will be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg in the end of the year 2010.
High School and University students exchange projects aimed at developing Russian and Chinese language, history and culture studies were discussed at the meeting. It was also agreed that Soong Ching Ling Foundation representatives will participate at the Eight Rhodes Forum session on October 7 – 11 this year and mutual youth programs will be developed in the frames of Rhodes Youth Forum activities.
