Francisco Nunez, Founder and Artistic Director, Young People’s Chorus of NYC, USA


Mr. Francisco J. Núñez is 2011 MacArthur Fellow and conductor, composer, leading figure in music education, and the founder of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City, which for 25 years has been renowned for the diversity of its membership and for its artistic excellence.

Mr. Núñez also leads University Glee Club of New York City, its fifth conductor since the all-men’s choir was established in 1894. He is sought after nationwide as a guest conductor by professional orchestras and choirs, a master teacher and advisor, and a frequent keynote speaker as a leading authority on the role of music in achieving equality and diversity among children in today’s society. His music and arrangements are published by Boosey & Hawkes, and as a writer, Mr. Núñez is published by Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press.
