Schulze Peter Wolfgang graduated from Free University Berlin in 1969.
After that he continued his education in London School of Economics and Political Science (1967-1968) and Stanford University, CA, USA (1971-1972).
In 1970 he became a research assistant at Faculty of Political Sciences at the Free University, International Relations and Comparative Government.
From 1973 to 1981 he was assistant professor at Free University of Berlin, various assignments at Schiller College Berlin, University of Oldenburg, University of Marburg, University of Maryland, Berlin, Stanford University, Berlin Campus.
From 1988 to 1992 he was director of the FES-Office in the UK and after that his new position was director of the FES in the Russian Federation (1992 – 2003).
In 2001 he became honorary professor of University Rostov-on-the Don, Russian Federation.
Since 2004 he is professor h.c. of political sciences, international relations and Russian studies at Georg August University of Goettingen.
He is author of numerous publications on topics related to international relations, the East-West conflict and the social, political and foreign policy of the Russian Federation, as well as Russian-European relations.
