Antonio Goucha Soares earned his PhD degree in Law at the EUI, Florence (1996), after graduating from the Lisbon Law School (1985) and the College of Europe, Bruges (1987).
He is Jean Monnet Professor of European Law at ISEG – Technical University of Lisbon, where he serves as vice-president of the Scientific Council. Also he was visiting professor at Brown University (1999 and 2003).
Mr. Goucha is the author of A Livre Circulacao de Pessoas na Europa Comunitaria (Fragmentos, 1990), Reparticao de Competencias no Direito Comunitario (Cosmos, 1996), A Carta dos Direitos Fundamentais da Uniao Europeia (Coimbra Ed., 2002), A Uniao Europeia (Almedina, 2006), Concorrencia. Estudos (Ed., with M. Marques; Almedina, 2006), and he has also published a number of scholarly articles in the fields of European law, European integration and competition policy in refereed journals such as European Law Review, Liverpool Law Review, European Public Law, Perspectives on European Politics and Society, European Competition Law Review, Economica and World Competition.
